Blepharoplasty is a type of surgery that removes excess skin from the upper and lower eyelids. With age, our eyelids stretch, and the muscles supporting them gradually weaken, leading to excess skin above and below our eyelids, sagging eyebrows, droopy upper lids and bags under the eyes.

Recovery

Recovery is typically straightforward.

First few days Swelling and bruising are expected, along with a mild sense of tightness or dryness around the eyes.
About one week Sutures are removed if needed, and a noticeable improvement in appearance begins to take shape.
Two to three weeks Most people feel comfortable returning to normal daily activities as the eye area continues to settle.
Over time Any remaining swelling gradually resolves, and the incisions soften and blend naturally into the surrounding skin.
